What are the post Sixth Form/College choices available?

Most students in Year 12 may have started to think about their choices post Sixth Form or
College, but often don’t know enough about the range of options available to them.
Alongside the traditional university option, there are now genuine alternatives with regard
to Higher Level and Degree apprenticeships and school-leaver programmes, but what are
the differences, how do they work and how might these choices suit you?

How do I apply successfully for University and Apprenticeships places?

Once you have worked out which is the best choice (or choices), then the key is to
understand how the application process works for each route and importantly you build the
most competitive application. Key questions around such choices are:

• What are the relevant timelines?
• What are the individual elements?
• How is my application going to be assessed?
• What can I be doing now to make a competitive application in the future?
